- The Rock married Lauren Hashian, his longtime partner, over the weekend.
- He shared the news in an Instagram post on Sunday night.
- Many of his fellow famous people are congratulating him in the comments section. It’s quite the party scene.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson really does seem like the nicest guy around. And even though he says someone else might hold that mantle, the comments on his Instagram post announcing his new marriage to longtime partner Lauren Hashian might indicate otherwise. The barrage of celebrities—athletes, musicians, movie stars, and more—is unlike just about anything else we’ve seen.
From the photos, it looks like he and Hashian kept their ceremony relatively low-key, but the party in the Instagram comments was objectively wild.
A number of The Rock’s friends and co-stars chimed in to wish him well.
Kevin Hart and Johnson jib and jab back and forth quite a bit, but the comedian was all good vibes toward his Central Intelligence co-star here: “🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Congrats man,” he wrote.
Johnson’s co-star in the Jumanji movies (and Avengers: Endgame standout) Karen Gillan jumped in to wish him well. “😍😍 Congrats!!!!” she said.
Ryan Reynolds has [Minor Spoiler Alert 🚨] a minor role in Hobbs & Shaw, so it’s not a surprise to comment on his on-screen and IRL buddy’s marriage with a sea of emoji positivity: “🙌🙌🙌🔥🔥🔥🔥”
Academy Award nominee and upcoming star of It: Chapter Two Jessica Chastain added her pedigree to the comment party. “Congratulations! 🎉,” she wrote.
Eiza Gonzalez appeared alongside Johnson in Hobbs & Shaw, and Scott Eastwood appeared with the 47-year-old star in The Fate of the Furious. You know Gal Gadot best as Wonder Woman, but she also appeared with Johnson in a pair of Fast and Furious movies. All three added their well wishes.
Fellow big nice man Terry Crews sent his enthusiastic regards. “CONGRATULATIONS🔥🔥🔥✊🏾💥💥💥💥💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” he wrote.
The Office star Mindy Kaling also congratulated The Rock. “👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Congrats!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾,” she wrote.
Marlon Wayans is known for playing all sorts of characters on-screen, but he was eager to just congratulate Johnson here. “Beautiful…. congrats!!!” the White Chicks star wrote.
Ava Duvernay also wished The Rock her best. The director of Selma is nominated for quite a few Emmys this year for her Netflix limited series When They See Us. Not to speculate (but also completely to speculate), but wouldn’t it be awesome to see these two work together?
As a former football player himself (before his superstardom kicked off with a pro wrestling career), The Rock often has much in common with his hyper-athletic brethren. You’ll probably recognize a few of these names.
Starting with our old pal Tom Brady, The GOAT (and our September cover star) wished Johnson well, saying “Congrats!!” in a comment.
Olympic stars Lindsey Vonn and Michael Phelps followed suit.
Celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson chimed in with a “Congratulations” post of his own:
Former New York Giant and current TV giant Michael Strahan said “Congrats to you both my brotha! ❤️🙏🏾”
ESPN anchor Cari Champion wished congratulations, adding a number of exclamations and three heart emojis.
Music and More
